XPeng was founded in Guangzhou in 2014 as a technology-led electric vehicle company. It grew from the compact G3 into a broader range of sedans, SUVs and MPVs, while developing its own vehicle software, driver-assistance stack and high-voltage charging platforms. Europe became an important expansion market with the P7, G9 and G6.
EV-Meilensteine
- +Very fast charging on newer 800 V models
- +Feature-rich software and frequent OTA updates
- +Strong standard equipment
- +Competitive range and cabin space
- –Service and parts coverage varies substantially by country
- –China-only models may use incompatible charging hardware and software services
- –Driver-assistance features differ by market and homologation
- –Rapid model updates can complicate exact trim identification
XPeng uses multiple external battery suppliers and both LFP and NMC chemistries. Newer SEPA 2.0 vehicles increasingly use 800 V silicon-carbide electrical systems. The latest G6, G9 and P7+ pair 800 V hardware with 5C batteries designed for approximately twelve-minute 10–80 percent charging under suitable conditions.
XPeng is one of the strongest technology-focused Chinese EV brands. Its current G6, G9, P7+ and X9 combine modern software with excellent charging hardware, but market-specific specifications and a still-developing service network remain important ownership considerations.
