Privacy Policy

Last updated: [effective date] · Operator: [operator legal name]

This policy explains what personal data EVRadar (“we”) collects, why, who processes it on our behalf, and the rights you have. EVRadar is operated by [operator legal name].

This document still contains [placeholder] fields. Fill them in src/lib/legal.ts and have the text reviewed before you rely on it — it’s an accurate draft of what the site does, not finished legal advice.

1. Who we are

EVRadar is operated by [operator legal name]. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact admin@evradar.online. We are established in [country / governing law], whose data-protection law applies.

2. What we collect

  • Account data — if you register: your email address, and any display name or avatar you add. Handled by our authentication provider (Supabase).
  • Content you submit — forum posts, owner reviews, battery-degradation reports and similar. Your chosen display name is shown publicly next to it.
  • Usage / analytics — only if you accept cookies: anonymous statistics about pages viewed, device and browser, via Google Analytics 4.
  • Approximate location — a country code derived from your IP address by our hosting layer, used to default your language and currency. Stored in a cookie; we do not keep IP logs ourselves.
  • On-device preferences — theme, language, currency, and the cars you compare or recently viewed, kept in your browser and never transmitted to us.

3. Why we use it (and the legal basis)

  • To run the service — show the catalogue, keep you signed in, publish your contributions. Basis: performance of a contract / our legitimate interest in operating the site.
  • To personalise on your device — the “For you” suggestions, computed locally from what you view and compare. Basis: legitimate interest; no data leaves your device.
  • To measure and improve the site with analytics. Basis: your consent (you can withdraw it any time).
  • To moderate and keep the community safe, and to comply with legal obligations. Basis: legitimate interest / legal obligation.

4. Who processes data for us

We don’t sell your data. We share it only with providers that process it on our behalf to run the site:

  • Supabase — database, authentication and storage of your account and contributions.
  • Vercel — hosting and content delivery of the website.
  • Cloudinary — hosting of images.
  • Google Analytics — usage analytics, only after you consent.
  • When you use the trip planner or charger map, the coordinates you enter are sent to mapping/routing services (e.g. OpenChargeMap, OpenStreetMap-based routing and geocoding) to return results. These are not linked to your identity.

5. International transfers

Some providers may process data outside your country, including outside the EU/EEA. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the providers’ standard contractual clauses). [Describe your transfer basis.]

6. How long we keep it

Account and submitted content: [retention period — e.g. until you delete your account]. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics’ configured retention (typically up to 14 months). Cookies expire as listed in our Cookie Policy.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including the GDPR for EU/EEA residents), you can:

  • access the personal data we hold about you, and get a copy;
  • correct inaccurate data, or complete incomplete data;
  • delete your data (“right to be forgotten”) — you can delete your account and contributions;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw analytics consent at any time via the cookie settings;
  • lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority ([your data-protection authority]).

To exercise any of these, email admin@evradar.online.

8. Children

The site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above. Please check back periodically.
