Historien

Polestar grew from a Swedish motorsport and Volvo performance operation into a standalone electric performance brand. Its first production model was the limited Polestar 1 plug-in hybrid, followed by the fully electric Polestar 2. The current range expands that design-led formula into the Polestar 3 SUV, Polestar 4 SUV coupé and Polestar 5 grand tourer.

Ærlig vurdering
Styrker
  • +Distinctive Scandinavian design
  • +Strong safety and driver-assistance equipment
  • +Google-based infotainment with regular OTA updates
  • +Good performance and motorway stability
Vær obs på
  • Some comfort and assistance features require option packs

  • Model and charging specifications change significantly by model year
  • Large wheels can reduce range and increase tyre costs
Batteri- og plattform-DNA

Polestar uses battery technology sourced through the wider Geely and Volvo ecosystem. Earlier Polestar 2 versions use a conventional 400 V architecture, while Polestar 4 also combines 400 V charging with a cell-to-pack battery. The latest Polestar 3 and Polestar 5 introduce 800 V systems capable of substantially higher DC charging power.

EVRadar-vurdering

Polestar offers a convincing mix of restrained design, safety and electric performance. The Polestar 2 remains the practical entry point, the 3 and 4 add premium SUV space, and the 5 brings the brand's fastest charging and most ambitious performance platform.
