Torque helps explain launch feel, towing confidence and responsiveness, but gearing and traction control decide what reaches the tyres.

What changes it

Performance moves with state of charge, battery temperature, motor limits, tyre grip, road surface and whether the car can repeat the output.

  • Peak output can drop at low charge or high temperature.
  • Grip limits launch performance before motor power does.
  • Weight decides how much power is needed to feel quick.

Common trap

Huge torque numbers can be misleading because motor torque and wheel torque are not the same thing.
