Platform name

Platform name identifies the underlying EV architecture or vehicle base, such as a dedicated skateboard platform or a shared multi-energy platform. It matters because the platform decides what can physically fit: battery floor, wheelbase, motors, crash structure, voltage, cabin layout and thermal hardware.

How to compare it

A dedicated EV platform usually gives better cabin packaging, charging integration and battery layout. A converted combustion platform can still be good, but check boot shape, floor height and charging speed closely.

  • Check whether the value is yes/no, a category or a measured number.
  • Compare it with related terms in the same category.
  • Treat tiny differences as noise unless the source and method match.

What changes it

Platform results are baked into the structure: axle spacing, battery position, voltage, cooling loops, crash rails and motor layout.

  • Dedicated EV packaging can improve cabin space for the same length.
  • Voltage influences charging current and heat.
  • Cooling and crash structure matter as much as the flat battery floor.

Common trap

A platform name is not a guarantee. The same platform can support cheap city trims and high-power performance trims with very different batteries and charging hardware.
