Old winter note, but maybe useful: same 42 km commute, -6 C, wet road, cabin at 20 C, preconditioned while plugged in.
Summer average: 15.8 kWh/100 km.
Winter average that week: 21.7 kWh/100 km.
The first 8 km were the killer. After the cabin and battery settled, consumption looked much more normal.
This is why short-trip winter range feels worse than motorway range sometimes. Heating overhead is front-loaded. Preconditioning helps, but not everyone can plug in at home.
Seat and wheel heat help more than people expect. We run cabin lower on short trips and the comfort is still fine.
