I am choosing between a used Model 3 Long Range and a new BYD Seal Comfort. Budget is around 40k EUR. Daily use is 70 km mixed roads, two long trips per month, home charging possible.

The Tesla has the charging network and proven efficiency. The BYD has warranty, quieter cabin and no used-car uncertainty. What would you pick?

If you road-trip twice a month, I would still lean Model 3 LR, but only if the battery health and suspension are checked properly.

Look for real degradation data, not just displayed range. Also check insurance quotes. In some countries that difference can erase a lot of the purchase saving.

Seal Comfort makes sense if you value comfort over charging speed. The LFP pack is a plus for daily 100% charging, but check the actual DC curve for your routes. Some BYD sessions are very consistent, just not Tesla-fast.

Good point on insurance. Model 3 is about 18% more expensive for me. I will test-drive both again and do a real motorway loop before deciding.
