The story

Dongfeng is one of China’s long-established state-owned car groups, founded in 1969 and headquartered in Wuhan. In EVRadar context it is less a single-product brand and more a family of electric and new-energy sub-brands, including Dongfeng Box/Nammi, eπ and export-market EVs.

Worth knowing
Dongfeng Box is closely related to the Chinese-market Nammi 01, but European versions use Type 2 / CCS charging.
The eπ 007 is a liftback sedan offered both as a battery EV and as a range-extender EV in China.
Dongfeng uses multiple export names for closely related EVs, which makes source checking unusually important.

The honest read
Strengths
  • +Competitive pricing on compact EVs such as Dongfeng Box.
  • +Broad EV spread from city hatchbacks to large eπ sedans and SUVs.
  • +Use of practical LFP batteries in many current models.
Watch-outs
  • Naming and rebadging can be confusing between Dongfeng, Nammi, eπ, Box and Vigo.
  • European service and parts coverage is still thinner than established legacy brands.
  • Some China-only models use market-specific charging hardware and cannot be mapped cleanly to CCS2 without export-market proof.
Battery & platform DNA

Dongfeng’s EV portfolio mixes compact LFP city-car packs, larger LFP packs for eπ and Nammi crossovers, and older lithium-ion/NCM packs in legacy Fengon/DFSK derivatives. The strongest pattern is pragmatic cost-focused electrification rather than one uniform premium 800V battery strategy.

EVRadar verdict

Dongfeng is useful on EVRadar as a value-focused Chinese EV group with several promising models, but the data needs strict market separation because the same car family can appear under different names and specifications.
